The Roku channel for Spotify was always bad but today the channel removed access to my Spotify playlists. I use the Roku channel just as often as I use the phone app because my good stereo I attached to the TV. I regularly reccomend Spotify to friends and family and I recently upgraded to Spotify family because when I'm using the phone app my kids can use the Roku. So now I'm paying extra for fewer features.

Spotify has a range of audio quality options to suit your device, plan, and preferences.

Roku has announced the Streambar, a compact soundbar that can also handle 4K / HDR streaming. It will retail for $129.99 (£129) and shipping is expected in mid-October in the US, Canada, Mexico. Come on Spotify - the roku does everything I need but allow me to cast to it from my other devices to play music. This app is so bad it would be better to not have it on the store at all - literally a waste of anyone's time who loves Spotify. If this app was the experience that users got using Spotify anywhere else, you'd have no company!

Their PC app, though very nimble and FAST, is terrible when it comes to organizing music. The Android app good and reliably streamed music for hours while at work. As for the library, at first I was thrilled. It's too bad because the Roku is our primary device and is love to use Spotify on it but the experience is terrible. At least give us suggestions as we search. God forbid you have to type in a long name because you'll have to finish the whole damned thing before it finds a match. From my experience using Spotify, it is an extremely buggy application. Getting it to cast music to devices is extremely unreliable, while I have dozens of other apps on my phone that do it.

Click on a playlist on my PC and it immediately initiates the tunes on my xbox one TV screen. Even more strange is that the playlists will play on xbox one if initiated throughmy pc. Change music quality

Turn music quality up to hear the finer details or turn it down to save data.

Note: You can’t change audio settings when using Spotify Connect to play on another device.

You can have different settings for listening online (streaming quality) or offline (download quality).

Higher streaming quality uses more data, and higher download quality uses more space.

  1. Tap Home .
  2. Tap Settings .
  3. Under Music Quality, select your preferred settings.
  1. Click in the top-right corner and select Settings.
  2. Under Music Quality, select your preferred settings

You can’t adjust music quality on the web player. Download the app to get more features.

Podcast quality

Podcast quality is equivalent to approximately 96kbit/s on all devices except the web player where it’s 128kbit/s.

On mobile/tablet, if you change the music quality to low, the podcast quality will also lower to approximately 24kbit/s.

I tried installing the Spotify app on my Express+ (3910RW), Roku software version 9.0.0 build 4142-51. The app worked fine. Later, I tried to use the YouTube, Prime Video, Hulu and Xfinity Stream apps. I got a 'run out of space' error. I uninstalled the Spotify app, the other apps ran normally. I reinstalled the Spotify app and again got the 'run out of space' error. I tried a few more un/re-intalls and Roku restarts and still the same problem. I started uninstalling other apps. No change, I uninstalled more apps, 140 of them total before I quit for the night (I currently have 298 apps installed).

Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a solution for it besides uninstalling every other app or is Spotify just one big useless storage hog?
