Spotify is a digital music service that gives you access to millions of songs. Spotify is all the music you’ll ever need. Listening is everything - Spotify. Spotify is many things to many people, but one thing it lacks is an equalization feature for letting you adjust bands of bass, midrange, and treble. A plug-in called Equalify.me can fix that.
Custom equalizer setting is a great option to personalize output Spotify audio tracks, which allows users to preset the audio settings to get favorite music sounds on devices. Equalizer for Spotify is available for both Android and iOS mobile apps. To change equalizer on Spotify, you don't need to download and use third-party software but for Spotify app only. Here's how you can enable an equalizer for Spotify on iOS and Android.
Spotify Equalizer on iOS
Step 1. Open Spotify app on your iPhone, navigate to Your Library tab in the lower-right corner and touch the Setting button at the top-right corner.
Step 2. In the setting window, you need to select Playback and then you will see there is an Equalizer option. Please tap the toggle to turn on the equalizer.
Step 3. You will see a list of preset equalizers for different types of music. In Spotify's case, 60Hz to 150Hz corresponds to the bass, 400Hz to 1KHz the midrange, and 2.4KHz to 15kHz to the treble. You can start to adjust the music preferences to the right one with best sounds by dragging the little white dots.
Enter a friendly name for what this is for i.e. Spotify; Click Generate Password; Copy the password in the normal spotify logon password box. Enter your FB email address as the username; I found these directions here: http://mikedixson.com/2014/11/solved-spotify-desktop-client-communication-failed/. /spotify-desktop-client-communication-failed-mac.html.
Step 4. When all settings are ready, just touch a preset to apply them, and you can get back to the home screen and listen to Spotify music in most suitable taste.
Spotify Equalizer on Android
If you don't use your Facebook account to sing up Spotify subscription, it could be easier to disconnect Spotify account from Facebook.
Step 1. Launch Spotify app on your Android phone. And you can hit on the 'Library' tab on your bottom-right hand corner to choose Setting option.
Step 2. In the Music Quality section, please scroll down to Equalizer button and click on it. It will pop up a prompt and you can just click OK to skip it.
Step 3. Android manufactures allows users to install and use your own equalizer instead of using Spotify's equalizer. You just need to choose the favorite equalizer to start adjusting music preferences.
Step 4. Please keep the Equalizer turned on and find which best suits you. When done, you can start to listen to nice audio quality on Spotify app.
Free Spotify Equalizer for Windows 10 PC
Looking for a Free Equalizer solution for Spotify on Windows 10 PC? Here’s what I am using.
This is a quick guide on how to set up VoiceMeeter Banana with Spotify and a proof that this is actually possible, that there is a free solution, showing you my set up, settings, if you use my or similar settings, you are ready to go! (don’t mind the Hz set up, for some reason it shows the wrong numbers)
STEP 1
Download and install VoiceMeeter Banana, restart your PC. You need to restart your PC! Download

STEP 2
Open/start VoiceMeeter Banana. Make sure Spotify is open and running too. Before we start setting up VB, open your Windows Sound Settings:
Spotify Equalizer Computer
In Advanced Sound Option select App volume and device preferences:
Find Spotify app in the list and change the Default Output to VoiceMeeter Input (VB-Audio VoiceMeeter VAIO)
STEP 3
Open VB Banana, in top right part in HARDWARE OUT left-click on A1 and select your output, in my case I selected MME: Speakers (Realtek High Definition Audio), but you can also select WDM: Speakers (Realtek High Definition Audio)
STEP 4
In the VoiceMeeter VAIO panel make sure to activate A1, so it is routed to the A1 output on the right side. You can use the three knobs as an EQ if you want and you are basically done, but if you want a more precise EQ, activate EQ in the MASTER SECTION (A1 output) by left-clicking on it:
STEP 5

Right-click on the EQ button to access EQ settings. You can activate and adjust all the different knobs to get the desired EQ setting

If you want VB (VoiceMeeter Banana) to start automatically on startup, go to settings and select System Tray (Run At Startup). Here you can also Save or Load Settings so you have a backup.
Voicemeeter Banana is technically not an EQ, it’s a virtual mixer, but it has 3 built-in EQs. The trick is to route Spotify through Voicemeeter first, apply inbuilt EQ and then output it to speakers (headphones). Just install, restart PC, and set it up the same way I did or play around and maybe you get even better results. I am not a pro at this. You can find more videos about Voicemeeter on Youtube, mostly from Twitch Streamers.
This solution works for both, the Spotify Windows Store app and the traditional desktop app. You need to have up to date Windows 10 (Post Spring Update). It only affects Spotify and runs on startup + it’s free! I hope this quick guide helps!
